Function Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide material management of raw materials and/or component parts to the manufacturing locations and validate material is available for production when needed.  This includes ensuring the material is shipped on time and received/stored accurately.  This role communicates directly with the supply base on any supply issues and works with internal partners on quality and inventory issues. This role also communicates directly with transportation teams for in-transit events tracking.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Participates and/or leads continuous improvement projects related to improving material management
  • Processes related to Inventory Accuracy, (Bill of Materials) BOM Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Model Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Packaging Management, Invoice Resolution, ASN Errors, Master Data Accuracy
  • Material management of raw material and/or component parts to the manufacturing locations and ensures material is available for production when needed including proactive and reactive problem solving with suppliers
  • Supporting processes related to Inventory Accuracy, (Bill of Material) BOM Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Model Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Management, Invoice Resolution, (Advanced Shipping Notice) ASN Errors, Master Data Accuracy
  • Continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (completed or in process) (preferably Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering)
  • 1+ years of knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain concepts and parts flow. Effective at developing and using standardized work

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Technical/Product Knowledge:  Supply Chain Management, Knowledge of Industry Standards 
  • Understanding of lean concepts:  Kaizan, Toyota Performance Systems (TPS), World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Root Cause Analysis
  • Understands and employs basic change management methodology
  • Uses logic and problem-solving tools to develop plans to meet targets and look forward proactively and to prioritize
  • Can lead conversations with suppliers in a proactive, productive manner
  • Use of Google Tools (Google: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms & Drawings
  • Excel-Pivot Tables, Macros, V-Lookup
  • SAP or other ERP System is preferred
