to-Day Role:
  • Reads and reviews daily production schedule. Completes daily reports including cycle time, daily production, scrap tickets and packaging report.
  • Maintains quality and speed by continual adjustments of gauges that control temperature, pressure, trim, rolls and speed to material.
  • Monitors machines for mechanical problems by listening for unusual noises and visually checking gears, hoses, gauges, materials, etc. Initiates troubleshooting and solves mechanical problems.
  • Performs general preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Notifies supervisors and/or maintenance of need for repair assistance if unable to fix.
  • Ensures adequate packaging materials and rolls (if applicable) are available for production runs.
  • Performs change-over and set-up duties.
  • Follows all safety rules, GMP’s and BRC regulations
  • Follows roll change procedures and threads rolls into machine as needed.
  • Provides guidance to Product Handlers and Forklift Operators on moving materials.
  • Keeps general work area clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • One (1) year experience in operating manufacturing equipment preferably in thermal forming or extrusion.
  • Experience using process control equipment preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment problems.
  • Ability use measuring devices.
  • Math skills to include addition, subtration, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.
