Based in St. Bruno, Quebec, you will align product carbody design along key manufacturing principals like Design For Manufacturing and Design For Assembly to improve our project deliveries, quality and cost.

The Dimensional Management Specialist focus on managing dimensional requirements of our products and its main building blocks, from their definition and their validation, up to supporting resolution of dimensional issues.

In your role you will:

- Support definition of engineering/manufacturing dimensional requirements. Optimize application of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing standard (GD&T);
- Define and document the product datum structure, tolerance stack up calculations, and tolerance plan;
- Perform dimensional configuration analysis and evaluate manufacturing capabilities and risks;
- Influence design for ease of manufacturing and assembly;
- Support dimensional requirements definition and validation process for major purchased parts (TRD) and systems;
- Support preparation and validation of the product control plan and control sheets, including optimized inspection methods and check fixtures;
- Support the validation and certification process of major manufacturing tooling;
- Support initial validation of product dimensional configuration during pilots and early production phases;
- Support analysis of dimensional issues, inspection data and reports, and root causes;
- Define permanent solutions to resolve dimensional issues;
- Support Engineering, Procurement and SQA functions to resolve initial dimensional issues;
- Support understanding of GD&T standard and promote its optimal use;
- Provide and maintain a centralized expertise in dimensional management and metrology. Promote best practices application within organizational network;
- Prepare standard documentation for training, processes and guidelines and support knowledge transfer to sites.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a technical diploma or bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
- You posses Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standard training;
- You have from 5 (five) to 10 (ten) years of relevant experience in product design or in industrialization;
- You own a minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in application of GD&T standard, in dimensional requirements analysis and resolution of complex technical issues;
- You possess strong knowledge in various manufacturing and assembly processes, manufacturing tooling and check fixture design;
- You have excellent communication skills in both English and French (written and spoken).
