Reporting & Metrics Analyst

Position Description

The Reporting and Metrics Analyst is responsible for maintaining and designing reports and analytical tools that deliver value to Grainger's Sales Organization and support initiatives such as:  Goal Setting, Sales Management System, Benefit Realization, Sales Compensation.  This position will use continuous improvement methodologies to streamline reporting and processes for field team members and corporate. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain consistent reporting to be leveraged across the Sales Organization.
  • Simplify, enhance, engineer, and re-engineer basic reporting processes.
  • Manage validation process that to ensure all data and calculations are correct before reports are published in order to ensure excellence in quality management.
  • Assist in the design, development and implementation of training the field on sales reports.
  • Responsible for distribution of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to the field and internal management according to published schedules.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on sales management system metrics.
  • Maintain and document reports that are available for team members and update as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, primarily in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, SQL, Business Intelligence (Crystal, Business Objects, Tableau), Teradata and/or other database/reporting tools is a plus.
  • Good oral and written presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, and accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • Displays good business acumen and a willingness to make decisions.
  • Business maturity to support senior leaders.
