Sr. IT (SAP) Enterprise Asset Management

The Sr. Engagement & Delivery Manager – Enterprise Asset Management will provide strategic and tactical leadership and expert guidance in the process of defining and implementing optimal solutions for global functional development with respect to the EAM business discipline and processes. The position will collaborate with functions and regions in areas such as solutions and process roadmapping, requirements ideation, solution validation and project leadership. The position will be accountable for the delivery of solutions to the business and Transition to Run together with the onshore and offshore teams. A key measure of success for this position will be client satisfaction.

Essential Duties

Oversee and manage application solutions

  • Oversee the execution and work product of third party technical contractors to effectively plan, design, develop, test and deliver their technology solutions.
  • Oversee all system deployments to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Technology resources while adhering to the Investment Systems and project management framework.
  • Act as a point of escalation for Priority 1 and 2 incidents and problems including the review and approval of root cause analysis documents.
  • Participate in solution governance committee together with the business.
  • Develop vendor relationships and negotiate SLA’s.

    Solution design, solution governance, quality reviews

  • Supports the capture of business requirements relative to EAM or other related services.
  • In partnership with the Quality Delivery Manager, protect the integrity and security of the system and associated data according to the criteria established with the application owner.
  • Document delivered solutions for transition to IT Operations support.
  • Plans and coordinates the processes required to design, test, and implement EAM related solutions within Newmont globally.
  • Ensures solutions adhere to Newmont standards relative to modifications, maintenance, updates, configurations and financial schedules.

    Project and financial management

  • Prioritize limited budget to manage the functional scope and meet the needs of the function.
  • Cooperate with the IT PMO to prepare funding requests and business case development for projects or larger enhancement requests.
  • Support project management capability on capital projects. May act as team leader for large project teams.
  • Responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems on multiple projects, and providing consultative support to internal staff.
  • Participates in IT financial management activities. May be responsible for multi-year planning to determine broad direction, prioritize projects and evaluate ROI within a functional sub-area.
  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure technical standards are followed.

    Business relationship management, strategy and analysis

  • Develop relationship with key business and IT stakeholders.
  • Takes ownership and effectively guide and maintain EAM IT strategy and roadmaps.
  • Liaise with the functions and regions to understand business process and develop recommendations and action plans.
  • Manage the functional portfolio starting with the work intake and prioritization process.
  • Analyzes business and user needs and follows through the full development life cycle.
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on user needs and a thorough understanding of application systems and industry requirements.
  • Responsible for feasibility studies, project charters, SOW, implementation, communication, testing, change management, and training strategies.

    Managed Service Relationship Management

  • Coordinate the assignment of work items to the team based on available resources and hours.
  • Coordinate with the onshore Service Delivery Manager to plan and execute the delivery of solutions for enhancements and projects.
  • Provide feedback on team performance to the Business Services team and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Engage with the service provider COE for topics requiring more specialized knowledge.

Training & Experience


  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field.
  • Good knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance processes including Capital Planning, Asset Planning, Asset Management, and/or Asset Records/Maps.
  • Knowledge in working with other cross functional modules of SAP including MM and WM
  • MBA studies or Post graduate are preferred.
  • BRMP certification preferred.


  • Minimum 10 years of practical hands on experience in SAP PM as an implementation consultant or as part of a solution delivery team.
  • Strong process and solution integration experience
  • Demonstrated business relationship management experience in a large, internationally dispersed organization.
  • Expertise in all areas of SAP EAM life cycle including master data.
  • Experience in multiple SAP full lifecycle implementations is desired.
  • Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy industry experience is preferred.

  • Willingness to put in extra hours as projects and priorities dictate.
  • Flexible hours to accommodate global meeting times.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.
