About the role:

Responsible for providing Quality Engineering Input to support R&D activities that involve the development or use of software products.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Working within a team of Product Software Quality Assurance Test Engineers (embedded within R&D).
  • Actively contributing to all aspects of Software and Firmware Quality Assurance activities in an FDA-Regulated Class III Active Implantable Medical Device environment.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and test of software, firmware, and hardware used in all of the Boston Scientific Neuromodulation product lines during their entire Development Life Cycle, from the Requirements gathering phase to the Retirement phase.
  • Verification and Validation activities, which encompass reviews of Requirements from Design, Functional, Architectural, Module, and Marketing specifications.  Code and Design reviews, Unit tests, Integration tests, System level (black box), Structural (white box), test automation, ad-hoc/exploratory test activities, and Risk Management and Use and Design FMEAs.
  • Creation and execution of Validation scripts to perform System level testing of our products and report any issues discovered.

     

 

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical, Software/Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated industry is desired
  • Experience working with implantable medical devices (Class II or III) and hardware/firmware is desired
  • Basic academic knowledge of principles of neuromodulation, neural electrophysiology, neuropathic diseases and/or neuroanatomy is desired
  • Knowledge of mobile application development, Bluetooth technology, and Cybersecurity is desired
  • Knowledge of Software and Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented programming, preferably C# .NET, and PHP and Python
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW, Matlab, and most common Engineering tools
  • Must be detail oriented and have a passion to “Build Quality In” the products
  • Must possess excellent organizational, clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be team-oriented with people skills and positive can-do attitude in dealing with a large number of customers, and several competing tasks from various departments (Software QA, R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory, Clinical, etc
