Agile DevOps Manager

Mission

 

  • Provide services to the technology teams that allow them to improve the performance/scalability of applications in LIVE. 
     
  • Work closely with Site Reliability Engineering, Network Operations, and Enterprise Platform Engineering teams to help bolster reliability of LIVE applications by virtue of effective problem solving and troubleshooting means. 
     
  • Identify, report on and track down service disruptions that impact live customers. Lead these investigations with the goals being to minimize current impact on customers while identifying root causes and preventing recurrence of the problem.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Manage a team of DevOps engineers to help serve the following: 
 

  • Lead a performance engineering team along with LIVE Operations Team. 
     
  • Implement Best Practices pertaining to Performance and Operational Reliability Engineering from an End-to-End perspective. 
     
  • Work with various stakeholders to help design, develop and implement a roadmap for performance test engineering at an enterprise scale. 
     
  • Establish relevant SLA(s) to help firm up team's contracts with all stakeholders and interacting teams. 
     
  • Help establish "Operational Viability" standards and guidelines in place and deliver automated solutions in the form of Ansible Playbooks to support the same. 
     
  • Design, Develop, and Deliver automated utilities that help contribute towards stable and consistent customer's end user experience. 
     
  • Help establish closed feedback loop with Business and other relevant teams to work towards long term fixes for potential recurring problems (Includes feedback for lessons learnt during LIVE Releases). 
     
  • Enable team members to have the tools and skill necessary to be successful in their role and add value to the business. 
     
  • Establish objectives that improve our monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution capabilities. 
     
  • Create clear presentations and communication to external stakeholders that highlight the impact of the issues and solutions to service disruptions. Produce reports that will help prioritize technical debt work on technology team roadmaps. 
     
  • Work with development teams on coordinating investigations into customer facing service issues.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of technology management experience 
     
  • 4+ years of hands-on performance test engineering experience involving tools like HP LoadRunner, JMeter, etc. 
     
  • 3+ years of experience in Operations and support domain 
     
  • 1+ year of experience with Agile Best Practices.

 

Preferred Skills

  • 1+ year of working understanding of tools such as AppDynamics, Nagios / Zabbix, Reporting tools such as Grafana / Prometheus 
     
  • Strong communication skills preferred.
