JOB DESCRIPTION
- We are currently seeking a technician to provide on-site and distance technical support to the US Navy Fleet for the AN/SPS-49 Surface Search Radar

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- System level checkout, troubleshoot and repair of the AN/SPS-49 Radar System
- Repair and testing of electronic systems, hydraulic cooling systems, and pneumatic waveguide environmental control systems
- Refurbishment of AN/SPS-49 Radar System for fleet deployments
- Repair, operation and maintenance (preventative and corrective) of onsite AN/SPS- 49A(V)1 and AN/SPS-49(V)5 Radar Systems
- System testing and verification of AN/SPS-49 Radar System Klystrons and High Voltage Power Supplies
- System testing and verification of AN/SPS-49 Radar System Solid State and Vacuum Tube Modulators
- System testing and verification of AN/SPS-49 Radar System Data Processor Circuit Cards
- Perform system upgrades to AN/SPS-49 Radar System
- Fleet support of AN/SPS-49 Radar System CASREPs
- Develop Excel Macro Spreadsheet for Klystron Test Data Calculations and Graphs
- This position will also be responsible for supporting the AN/SPS-73 Navigational Radar on an as needed basis
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS

TYPICAL EDUCATION:
- The candidate will have a minimum of three years working on AN/SPS-49 below deck portion of the radar system.

CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist

CLEARANCE:
- The candidate must currently possess a secret clearance

REQUIRED SKILLS:

The candidate must be proficient with:
- Spectrum and Network Analyzers, O-Scopes, Digital and Analog Meters, Pulse and Function Generators, AC/DC Power Supplies, Automated Test Systems.

And have a working knowledge of:
- High and low voltage power supplies, modulators, analog and digital circuit card assemblies, amplifiers, heat exchangers, compressor units, relay assemblies, controller units, etc.
