Circular Plastics Australia is creating a truly circular economy by giving billions of used plastic bottles and containers a new life. Our facilities enable plastic waste to be recycled locally and made into new bottles and packaging, rather than ending up in landfill.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Leader is responsible for managing the operations of our plastic recycling plant during the night shift from 10pm to 6am, Monday – Friday.
The Shift Leader has day-to-day accountability for supervising the team of Production Operators, safely delivering the shift production targets, supporting maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Work with the Production Manager to deliver on the daily and weekly production schedule, achieving optimum production efficiencies and DIFOT.
- Ensure that all Operators understand and follow the site SOPs.
- Hold Operators accountable for achieving all quality standards.
- Responsible for maintaining the site housekeeping standards.
- Build the capability of the team through monitoring skills and maintaining training schedules.
- Escalate any issues through Production Manager to sales and logistics to ensure customer delivery on-time.
Your skills and experience:
- Ideally have a background in plastics recycling
- Worked in a similar industrial-based manufacturing business
- Sound background in managing and leading small teams
- Worked in a 24/5 environment
- Lean manufacturing experience

Qualifications
- A trade background, (e.g. Boilermaker, fitter) is an advantage
- FLT licence
