Manager, Indirect Tax Advisory

Our team is growing! Currently we are seeking a Manager for our Indirect Tax Advisory group. This role can be located in our Calgary or Vancouver office.

As a Manager you will:

  • Plan and work on indirect tax engagements including consulting on domestic and/or cross-border transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and CRA audit defence and drafting notice of objections, and provide assistance with indirect tax compliance
  • Work with clients in many industries with a focus on Natural Resources, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing and Real Estate
  • Research and prepare reports, memoranda, and letters on complex indirect tax matters
  • Review agreements and corporate documents
  • Build relationships at a senior level and be seen as a trusted business advisor
  • Expand your expertise in indirect taxes
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training programs
  • Create a learning environment through leadership

External Posting Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the area of indirect tax
  • A completed accounting designation, LLB., J.D., or Masters degree would be an asset
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
  • Ability to anticipate the long term impact of all decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving
  • Ability to execute a client service plan on complex engagements and work closely with the team in exceeding our client's expectations while identifying and mitigating business risks associated with projects
  • Canadian travel required occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments
