Graduate Assistant - Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning

The University of Cincinnati’s Center for the Enhancement of Teaching & Learning (CET&L) invites applications for a Graduate Assistant to join a thriving and engaged team of scholars and professionals supporting excellence in faculty development at one of the nation’s top 25 public-research universities. 


The Graduate Assistant (GA) for CET&L must be dependable, responsible, and available to their CET&L supervisor, the Center’s professional staff, and collaborative partners. The candidate will serve in a supporting role to current teaching and learning initiatives have in-depth knowledge of data collections and assessment and be able to perform administrative assignments.



Expectations and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research, assessment and other projects as assigned.
  • Conduct scholarly literature searches and maintain electronic databases.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned
  • Communicate with CET&L staff, participants, facilitators, and administrators regarding CET&L’s mission and offerings.
  • Facility with web content management, particularly AEM (training may be provided, but prior experience is preferred).
  • Participation in a variety of CET&L activities, including staff meetings, student meetings, committee work, special events, etc.
  • 20 hours/week of work, “flex” hours depending on your academic schedule.
  • Be familiar with, abide by, and promote applicable university rules, Student Code of Conduct, and other CET&L guidelines
  • Liaison to Center’s GATE program: Assist with the facilitation, coordination, management, and development of programming and meetings


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be registered for at least twelve graduate credit hours each quarter of the academic year.
  • Must meet eligibility criteria published by graduate programs that make awards and appointments.


Other Qualifications

  • Graduate student at the University of Cincinnati spring 2018 through 2019
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite special focus on Microsoft Excel and online assessment tools for surveys and data collection.
  • Familiar with online social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative.
  • Problem-solving skills.
