This OPS Physician position works within the Department of Health in Lake County (DOH-Lake) to provide medical care & management for adult and pediatric patients seen at its facilities.  This position primary provides women’s health, STI, and family planning services for patients in conjunction with mid-level providers, but may also provide comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients.  In addition, this physician will provide coverage for our mid-level providers, as well as act as a consultant for those providers.


Provide standard of care to patients presenting to the Sexually Transmitted Infections and Family Planning Clinic.


Provide primary care services.


Utilizes expertise to educate patients, staff and community.  Participates in staff development, program and orientation. 


Oversees the work of personnel assigned to assist him/her.


Assumes additional responsibilities and performs other duties that may be assigned.


Assumes responsibilities for maintaining current Florida Medical License. 


Information custodian responsibilities include maintaining information in accordance with state and federal statues, rules regulations, and Depart of Health Security Policy 3 and associated protocols and procedures as its relates to information custodian, delegation of authority.  This responsibility is to be adhered to 100% of the time.


Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:  Requires good written and verbal communication skills.  Knowledge of evaluation methods and practices.  Ability to work independently, within minimal supervision.  Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.  Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment.


In the event of an emergency, this health department is required to perform emergency operations functions. You may be required to work before, during and/or beyond your normal work hours or days in a special needs shelter, red cross shelter, emergency operations command center (EOCC), or to perform other emergency functions.
