We are looking for a mid-level Software Systems Technical Advisor to contribute to the Integrated Intelligence System Program Office (I2). I2 is responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of sensemaking applications, global situational awareness applications, and a framework with an integrated data layer.  The Software Systems Technical Advisor will assist the government in acquiring next-generation Multi-INT capabilities by providing programmatic oversight and software systems engineering expertise throughout the development and maintenance lifecycle.  



  • Assists in the development of key system requirements and assessing the impacts of proposed engineering changes
  • Evaluates contractor designs to ensure requirements are satisfied, external impacts are understood, and user needs are met
  • Participates in milestone reviews and serves as a principal technical advisor to the government on program readiness
  • Performs oversight on behalf of the program office of verification and validation activities 
  • Supports operation transitions, coordinating response to discrepancies, and supporting other enterprise activities 
  • Contributes to  major technical studies at the behest of the customer
  • Assists in coordinating Aerospace Engineering Matrix support
  • Contributes to development of project plans with products, deliveries dates and level of effort  
  • Recommending strategies to migrate systems and functions to government-managed cloud hosting environments 



  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, scientific, or related field from a recognized institution
  • Current TS/SSBI
  • This position requires the ability to have an maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.



  • 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
  • Exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and personal initiative
  • Willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to accomplish the mission
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and function in mixed teams comprised of government, FFRDC, and CAAS/SETA personnel
  • Knowledge of US Government acquisition and systems engineering processes.  
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering and software development lifecycles. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; experience authoring technical reports and briefing both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically for customer meetings and visits to contractor worksites
  • Ability to occasionally flex work schedule to accommodate deadlines



  • Advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field
  • Experience working in the GEOINT or SIGINT intelligence discipline from the perspective of acquisition, systems engineering, development, or mission operations
  • Experience working in data analytics or related field.
  • Knowledge of agile-based software development and cloud-based software system infrastructures
  • Knowledge of NRO systems engineering, acquisition, and integration processes, such as the NRO Acquisition Manual, the NRO Lifecycle Readiness Instruction, and the NRO Site Integration Standards
  • Experience collaboratively with matrixed personnel to solve technical problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environments, complete tasks on short deadlines, and solve ill-defined problems
  • Experience contributing to delivering timely, impartial assessments despite incomplete or imperfect information
