Job Summary

The Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine (D3b) is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) III to manage the Philadelphia Coalition for a Cure (PC4C) Observational Clinical trial. The PC4C is a multi-institutional consortium of medical institutions dedicated to a collaborative platform of basic research and clinical trials on behalf of all patients affected by cancer. CHOP is the coordinating center for the PC4C. The CRC II will oversee the daily activities of the PC4C and work closely with each institute to ensure the completion of study start-up activities in the preparation and implementation of the trial as well as the ongoing operational activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist and prepares various clinical study documents including but not limited to informed consent forms and study protocols
  • Will be responsible for managing IRB amendments and continuing reviews
  • Manage essential regulatory documents
  • Educates and trains internal and external clinical staff, research teams and coordinators of study activities
  • Facilitate pre-study, site qualification, study initiation, and monitoring visits
  • Maintain and ensure the quality and completeness of study master files across the consortium in compliance with GCP
  • Maintain the tracking system for project progress
  • Coordinate research/project team meetings
  • Monitor for complete case report forms (paper & electronic data capture) and address queries
  • Maintain study source documents
  • Collect, process and ship laboratory specimens
  • Coordinate specimen shipping activities to the coordinating center.
  • Coordinate ordering test and shipping specimens to the sequencing centers
  • Responsible for managing and tracking specimen kits
  • Facilitate study close out activities
  • Coordinate study budgets and financial management

Required Education and Experience

Required Education::  BA/BS in a related field

Required Experience:  5+ year(s) relevant clinical research coordination experience

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education:  MA/MS in a related field

Preferred Experience: 

  • 2+ year(s) relevant clinical research coordination experience
  • Completion of requisite Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
  • Society of Clinical Research Associates – SoCRA membership or Association of Clinical Research Professionals – ACRP membership

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Experience with IRB and multi-institutional trials.
  • Certification through Association of Clinical Research Professional, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous clinical research experience, preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Must have strong project management, communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, are required
  • Additional attributes include an ability to multi-task, be flexible, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able and willing to travel
