Position Summary

Bridgestone Americas Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for Technical Service Section Leader at the Warren County, TN facility. The Tech Service Section Leader will report to the Technical Service Manager and will provide leadership to a team of Process Engineers for a designated department within the plant. The Tech. Service Section Leader will be responsible for the development of new product launches, ensuring development builds meet schedule requirements, as well as coordinating the development and control of the manufacturing process to maintain performance standards and improve both product and processing quality at optimized cost. The Tech Services Section Leader will lead a team of Process Engineers in improving quality metrics and reducing production costs by reducing waste and scrap. The ideal candidate must have a continuous improvement mindset while overseeing day-to-day activities in order to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly metric expectations. This role will have direct supervision over a team of 6 Process Engineers.

The Warren County Plant is the flagship tire manufacturing facility within Bridgestone Americas Inc. Warren County produces Truck and Bus radial tires and operates on a 24/7 basis. The selected candidate will be required to routinely support activities during non-standard business hours.


Some responsibilities include:

  • Initiates and supervises subordinates’ analyses and solutions to problems.
  • Advises Tech Service Manager regarding plant product and process capability.
  • Improves product quality and reduces cost.
  • Monitors and evaluates status of quality/cost (scrap, repair, waster); reviews information with production and technical departments.
  • Maintains and adjusts the product specifications system to maintain quality of the product.
  • Advises production manager and Corporate technical management of process problems/issues.
  • Reviews and authorizes component specifications and standard practice to define the process standards for quality tires both by Bridgestone and Department of Transportation standards.
  • Develop departmental goals and implement action plans to attain/exceed goals.
  • Communicate objectives to team and review departmental situations daily with staff.
  • Coordinate activities to investigate problems and develop countermeasures.
  • Motivate personnel to reach new goals on a regular basis.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with prescribed standards to ensure superior product quality.
  • Educates customers on process/materials/equipment.
  • Introduces new hires to technical standards and tire construction.
  • Ensures a safe working environment.

A qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 6 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience or Master’s degree in related field plus 6 or more years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years of direct people management
