    Trails West Golf Course is recruiting Part Time Recreation Equipment Repairers to help with daily operations in the clubhouse. Trails West Golf Course (TWGC) features 18 holes on 190 acres of open meadows, tree-lined zoysia fairways and bent grass greens. The course is conveniently located in the center of Fort Leavenworth and is open to all players, military and civilian.

    • Performs repair work on a variety of gas and diesel powered equipment including gas powered rental golf cars and maintenance vehicles, multi-gang mowers,tractor drawn mowers, greens mowers, aerators and other mechanical equipment.
    • Performs preventative maintenance and establishes schedules for routine maintenance.
    • Diagnoses malfunctions of equipment to determine the source of trouble, extent of repairs required, and the tools and parts necessary to successfully make repairs.
    • Completes minor engine repairs by cleaning, adjusting, and/or replacing defective parts of components and systems, including wheel cylinders, mufflers, brake shoes, carburetors, etc.
    • Performs both minor and major electric and gas welding tasks as required.
    • Establishes and maintains parts accountability records for all regularly required repair parts, etc.
    • Performs minor and major repairs to cutting reels including dismounting, disassembly, repair, lapping, grinding, setting, and reassemble and remounting of reels from single through multiple-gang cutting units.

    • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
    • Satisfactory complete pre-employment physical

  • Possess the knowledge to diagnose and determine source of malfunctions for a variety of Turf related equipment and hydraulic drive motors.
  • Possess the experience repairing a variety of Turf related equipment and hydraulic drive motors, their components and electrical systems.
  • Possess the ability to properly disassemble, assemble, and operate grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret a variety of manufacturer's manuals and parts listings.
  • Experience making fabrication repairs to equipment to include using a torch and welding.
  • Experience using a variety of tools such as motor diagnostic equipment and compression testers, motor analyzers, electrical component test benches and special measuring instruments such as inside and outside micrometer, calipers, and Vernier calipers.
  • Possess and maintain the ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds unassisted.
