Position Description

The Regional Metalworking Manager is responsible for managing the 8 Metalworking Specialists in order penetrate and grow revenue within prescribed metalworking categories in the vertical Manufacturing region.

This is a leadership position.  The Regional Metalworking Manager will partner with the RSVP of Manufacturing to ensure that the GMS and the existing sale force are working together to proactively target, engage and close metalworking business. Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Champion Grainger’s Metalworking strategy both internally (whole company) and externally (industry associations, customers and suppliers)
  • Attract, hire, train and develop MWS to execute defined strategy
  • Effectively manage staff to execute key performance drivers and meet defined revenue goals  
  • Execute Sales Management Process, in order to assess and develop MWS
  • Partner with corporate and local leaders to ensure effective execution day to day operations
  • Collaborate with Sales, Segment and Product Management teams to address market needs and Grainger offerings
  • Create and expand relationship with key contacts in aligned markets and industry overall
  • Stay current on Metalworking  trends and market conditions
  • Exercise and support CI efforts to evaluate and improve program effectiveness

Position Requirements:

 

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years Metalworking Supplier or Industrial distribution experience preferred
  • Previous sales management experience with a distributor or metalworking manufacturer is preferred
  • Business analysis experience and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities are required
  • B2B sales management experience required
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required; MBA a plus
