An integral part of our customer service focus, includes contact centres across Canada supporting all of our Bell Mobility and Bell Residential Services customers. Our  Customer Operations team is responsible for strategy, design and delivery of core call centre tools and processes, including queue strategy, routing, and call monitoring tools.

 

Bell’s Business Intelligence team is responsible for the management and use of data to understand customer behavior, automate business insight processes target marketing & contact strategy opportunities and provide insight to drive optimal business decisions.

 

We are looking for an experienced ETL developer to support automated processes, analysts and developers.  As part of Bell’s Business Intelligence Data Engineering organization, you will have the opportunity to work with best in class technology platforms, partner with industry leading vendors and lead motivated professionals towards the common goal of an optimal enterprise data ecosystem.

 

Essential Job Function:

  • Support and troubleshoot technical problems within the BI Environment
  • Support several processes within BI teams
  • Support outages, delays & major deployments within the BI environment
  • Evaluate the performance of existing processes and optimize whenever required
  • Create new processes to improve the performance of BI environment
  • Share technical expertise with team and provide recommendations for best practices
  • Enforce standards and discipline in documentation and structured development

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies

  • Intermediate level SQL skills to aggregate, filter and analyze large data sets on a variety of DBMS.
  • Able to troubleshoot code written by other people; including understanding the business logic implemented and ensuring the code is optimized.
  • Hands on experience with technologies such as Teradata, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Data Integration Studio and IBM LSF is preferred.
  • Ability to create, evaluate and implement ETL support controls such as self-healing processes, triggers, control tables, alerts, etc.
  • Able to prioritize, multitask and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Collaborative spirit to share learnings and knowledge with peers.

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree in computer science or related field.
  • 2+ years ETL experience.
  • 2+ years SQL experience.
  • 2+ years developing and optimizing queries on Teradata.
  • 2+ years using SAS products with emphasis on Enterprise Guide and Data Integration Studio.
  • Experience working with telecom data.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau or Microstrategy.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems, especially in scripting on these platforms
