Technical Support Specialist

Mission:

The Technical Support Specialist will play a hands on role in supporting the Manufacturing of our LED products.  This individual will develop and/or promote technical solutions which support the business requirements. He or she, will be accountable for specific deliverables in relation to technological improvements and how these are incorporated into our products and manufacturing process. He or she will also play a vital role in training, coaching and supporting our manufacturing team as it relates to technology changes and improvements within the process of developing, testing and manufacturing LED signs.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiates and helps implement recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of our products and services through the use of technology, or technical methods and methodologies.
  • Communicates change or issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participates in the development of and/or review of standards, documentation and methods of manufacturing technology.
  • Assists others in resolving complex technical problems, investigates the root cause of problems and recommends specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely solutions.
  • Takes lead as subject matter expert in technology related changes and training.
  • Works directly with vendors to gain a complex understanding of the technology being used and ensure correct specifications of LED components are being met. 
  • Evaluates, analyzes and interprets data and presents in a clear, well-organized, scientifically sound report.
  • Assist with product testing, launches and implementation

  • Understanding of electronic components including: IC Drivers, Capacitors, PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards), Traces, LED (DIP & SMD).
  • Basic understanding of Linux based software

 

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral, to a variety of audiences.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of firmware programming
  • Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates good judgement in considering and recommending alternative courses of action
  • Ability to handle pressure of multiple deadlines while maintaining composure and professionalism
  • Familiarity with software and front-end development
  • Ability to work independently and also effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to work with manufacturers to understand the technology and incorporate into our products.
  • Working knowledge of soldering components on PCB’s (Printed Circuit Boards)
  • Ability to operate in a production-driven environment and perform at the required standards.

     

Required Qualifications (Measurable):

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Computer Sciences or 2-3 years equivalent work experience in IT, Technical Support, Computer Repair or Programming.
  • Solid skills in operating systems troubleshooting
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience on digital technology products.
