Duties

 

The Parks, Outreach & Service Delivery Division is looking for a seasoned and professional Parks Program Coordinator (PPC).  As the Parks Program Coordinator, you will provide advice, assistance, and services that contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Regional Services branch and Provincial Parks program to better meet visitor and stakeholder needs.  The Program Coordinator will be responsible for leading, developing, monitoring and administering parks programs that will contribute to high quality experiences to residents and tourists.  These include the provincial park reservation system, provincial park standards, concession program and the payment card industry (PCI) compliance program.  The PPC is also accountable for continual improvements of the parks program and    providing information, strategic advice and recommendations to senior leaders, park and department staff.  

Qualifications

 

The following qualifications are required:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in a related discipline such as Parks, Natural Resources, Business, Economics, Public Administration, plus five years related experience; or
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

 

To be successful in this role you must possess:

 

  • Ability to analyze and convert raw data into a format that is easily understood by a variety of audiences.
  • Capability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in effective report writing.
  • Ability to liaise and maintain working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external to an organization).

 

Pay Grade:  PR 13  

 

Salary Range:  $2,291.00 - $2,786.00 Bi-Weekly

 

This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
