Cash Allocations / Accounts Receivable Assistant

We are looking for Cash Allocations / Accounts Receivable Assistant.

 

Salary banding for this position is £20,000 - £24,000.  (Internal Scale 4) Successful candidates will be appointed to the bottom of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.

In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.

 

The role needs someone who has cash allocation experience in a high volume and fast paced environment.  The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective, efficient financial and 
administrative operations for all accounts receivable services, managing daily bank receipts and allocation of cash and ensure customers pay to terms and resolve overdue payments

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 

  • Daily monitoring of incoming cash
  • Downloading all bank statements and reconciling AR
  • Allocation of money received into all bank accounts via on line bank statements
  • Obtaining missing remittances to enable correct allocations
  • Discussing un-allocated payments with internal and external customers
  • Query resolution
  • Dealing with queries directed from all teams regarding cash uploaded or allocated
  • You will also undertake some credit control tasks as part of your role to assist the Accounts Receivables Team
  • Monitor various accounts ensuring they’re up to date
  • Filing
  • Responsibility of all aspects of credit control and their relating queries or issues
  • Any adhoc duties as requested by Manager
  • Develop effective working relationships with both internal departments and customers

 

The Cash Allocations / Accounts Receivable Clerk must have detailed knowledge and experience of sales ledger and cash allocation processes. Effective communication skills are essential; you will liaise across departments within the organisation. Time management is critical and the ability to work as part of a team is a prerequisite. 

 

You will:- 

 

  • An advantage to have worked with SAP
  • Ideally be immediately available or have a short notice period
  • Have previous experience of working within an Accounts Receivable team
  • Knows the difference between Debits & credits
  • Have strong IT and Excel skills
  • Have strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Have the ability to reconcile accounts and be able to work within a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Proven track record in an all-round accounts role either Accounts Assistant or Accounts Receivable
  • Excellent attention to detail
