Based in New York, you will act as the face to the customers on all matters related to Quality and you also will manage Quality and Configuration Management matters for the LIRR/MNR Positive Train Control (PTC). You will project and have the authority to act in all Quality matters for the Systems Integrator (SI). The SI is responsible to develop, modify, design, deliver, provide, test and commission a new PTC system.

In your role you will:

- Communicate and control the Project Quality Management Plan and Configuration Management Plan;
- Perform Quality Control/Assurance activities for all trades to ensure contract compliance whether the work is performed by the SI’s own forces or by Subsystem Integrators;
- Manage, directly or indirectly, a team consisting of Configuration Management, Software Quality Assurance and QHSE Engineering;
- Manage the following project activities: field and installation inspections, workplace safety system, risk assessments, non-conformance management, coordination of field modifications, First Article Inspections (FAIs), continuous improvement, incoming inspection and other related Quality functions;
- Deliver regular status reporting to senior management, project management and the customer railroads.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a College degree;
- You have experience in the transportation or manufacturing Industry;
- Your experience in related industries such as aerospace, defense, energy or shipbuilding will be considered an asset;
- You are a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) as recognized by the American Society for Quality, a certified ISO-9000 Lead Auditor as recognized by the Registrar Accreditation Board, or equivalent;
- You own ability to interface with multiple departments (Project Management, Integration, Engineering, Technical Operations, etc.) and prioritize QA activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
- You possess ability to interface with customers and suppliers and advocate for the requirements of each, as required;
- You have ability to manage (matrix approach) remote staff to include Configuration Managers, Software Quality Engineers, and Hardware Quality Engineers;
- You own high proficiency with standard business software, such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases and filesharing applications. General knowledge of asset management, configuration management and enterprise resource management tools is highly desirable;
- You have strong communications skills, both written and interpersonal and ability to effectively communicate within an international team of technicians, administrators, engineers and managers;
- Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken.
