Salary: From £48,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home and at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Milton Park - Oxfordshire)

About the role:

In Jisc Licensing we broker agreements with vendors for content and software solutions that will enable our members to deliver a quality student experience, deliver high quality research and innovation and enable transformational change.

To ensure our negotiations deliver on the strategic priorities of our members, our strategic groups set the direction of negotiations and provide us with our mandate to negotiate on behalf of all UK universities and colleges.

The Data and Intelligence portfolio performs several critical functions:
• It underpins the successful delivery of our negotiation and licensing activity in Jisc through the analysis of data and provision of intelligence and analysis
• It collects, processes, curates and supports access to quality assured datasets that drive products delivered by Jisc and its partners
• It uses data and analytics to monitor and assess the value and impact of our activities, products and services

Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for strategic planning, implementation and ongoing delivery of a market intelligence service, ensuring that it delivers the right data and intelligence product solutions.
• Develop and implement strategies that enable quantitative and qualitative data to be acquired and transformed into accessible, and contextualised sector insights, supporting delivery of a customer centric set of outcomes.
• Work with Licensing Portfolio Leads, Product and Licensing Managers to define data and market intelligence requirements to inform development of new innovations, product clusters and services.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Strong research skills, including proficiency in conducting primary and secondary research.
• Experience in designing, conducting and delivering market research including development of surveys, interviews, desk research and data analysis.
• Coaching / mentoring / training / end user support skills
• Ability to lead a team of skilled market intelligence resource, working with agility to deliver solutions at pace.
• Experience of leading successful projects and teams using agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of the education, research, information systems and technology sectors
• Flexibility to travel and to meet with key stakeholders.
• Keen interest in own continuing professional development.
