About the Role 12 Month Fixed Term Parental Leave Contract The Community Services Worker position sits within the Community Aged Care Respite Services Department of Wesley Mission Queensland as part of the Balmoral Community Centre (BCC) team. BCC provides centre-based and outreach programs for the community. These services provide support to a diverse range of individuals including older people and people with a disability. This role includes but is not limited to social and recreational support for individuals and groups in the community, shopping, transport (to centre and for social / community participation), centre-based support and social inclusion activities within customers' homes if required. In addition, this role also supports the daily operation of the community centre. This Community Services Worker will develop meaningful relationships with members of the community that incorporate the physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs of the individual or group. About You 1. Relevant Certificate III qualification (Community Services, Aged Care, Disability/Mental Health, or equivalent) from a recognised provider for appointment as Level 3. 2. Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, flexible and holistic care to a variety of clients with varying needs including older people or people with a disability. 3. Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to develop rapport and maintain effective relationship with clients, their carers / families and support networks. 4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team to continually promote and provide excellent care and services to customers. 5. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn database systems and applications. 6. Willingness to continue to learn new processes and skills and to maintain sound time management. 7. Demonstrated ability to recognise and report health/environmental hazards including infection control and assist with corrective action. 8. Demonstrated ability to report changes in a client's condition, needs or other relevant information to the Senior Coordinator. 9. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles and practices of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries in relation to all clients, volunteers and staff. 10. Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and continuous quality improvement practices. 11. NDIS Worker Screening Clearance held before commencing. 12. NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You completed before starting. 13.
