Job Description Summary

The Safety Communications Manager will drive communications to support the company's comprehensive safety strategy working closely with the Safety team and Communications team to deliver tangible results across a spectrum of internal opportunities.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating a comprehensive communications strategy and delivering clear and simple messages to all employees and some external audiences. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage communications strategies and deliverables to drive safety messaging consistently and thoroughly throughout the organization.
  • Partner with Safety leaders and Communications leaders to support all elements of safety (product safety, EHS, etc.) both in the U.S. and globally.
  • Identify opportunities to connect with production/hourly employees to ensure understanding of safety priorities and initiatives.
  • Build on site-based communications practices to amplify enterprise-wide messages consistently.
  • Build relationships with key leaders across Engineering, EHS, Compliance, HR and other functions to identify and align standard messaging for Safety.
  • Establish a regular cadence of safety articles and case studies to promote GE Aerospace's Safety Management System (SMS). Maintain key platforms where safety messages can be shared, including the GE Aerospace intranet and external website.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in communications, the ability to influence teams, build and manage relationships and balance day-to-day execution with long-term strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or related field from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a communications or project management role

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior Aviation, Aerospace or Safety industry experience
  • Experience as a strategic communications partner to organization leadership
  • Proven writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media tools and web-based newsletters
  • Detail oriented with skills in editing and proofreading

This position may be eligible for the following flexible work arrangements (FWA):

  • Hybrid Work Schedule (i.e. onsite in the Evendale office 3 days per week/remote work 2 days per week for core team days)
