Trainer Leader, Operations

New Albany, Ohio

Position Summary:

The Training Leader Operations is responsible for the development, delivery, and recording of training activities for all levels of operations employees. Creates partnerships with manufacturing managers and other departments for short- and long-term training projects. Directs and trains the training coordinator or other subordinate roles in the training department. Makes recommendations to site leaders for improvements in all aspects of training.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Collaborate with Operations managers, Operations Leaders, and subject matter experts to develop training materials.
  • Ensure Operations manufacturing procedure changes are reviewed for training curriculum updates and that appropriate training is conducted in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the organization and maintenance of training records in the learning management system (LMS). Ensure training records are accessible for audits and other department needs.
  • Ensure Job Training Curriculum (JTC) is developed and periodically updated in LMS for manufacturing training qualifications.
  • During training development activities ensure changes to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and job instructions (JIs) are routed through document control and approved for use.
  • Coordinate with site manufacturing leaders and human resources for the scheduling and conduct Orientation/onboarding training.
  • As required conduct generic training activities for manufacturing personnel.
  • Coordinate facilities and resources for training related Kaizens and other training related Lean activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate training department metrics as required.
  • Performs other related assignments and duties as assigned.


In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

  • Requires seven to eight years of experience in a manufacturing environment that includes the implementation of training activities.
  • Software and data entry experience working with computer related systems.
  • Experience developing spreadsheets and preparing reports in a business environment is required.
  • Lean manufacturing experience such as BRPS, 5S, and Kaizen events is preferred.
  • Associates or trade school degree required. In lieu of a degree, eight years of manufacturing experience with training responsibilities are required.


You'll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Knowledge of LMS as a user required. Experienced as an LMS administrator preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tact, and diplomacy in interactions with others, strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • The ability to plan, organize, coordinate, schedule multiple tasks with minimal supervision, and adjust to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Intermediate proficiency in personal computing equipment and software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range
$67,855.00 - $112,135.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate's starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
