Position:Trade Compliance Specialist

Job Requirements:
  • 5-10 Years of experience in US Customs brokerage field
  • Bachelor's degree OR Customs Brokerage License
  • Strong operational experience with import shipments
  • Basic understanding of the ACE portal
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and to provide guidance and training to various internal business locations.
  • Willing to travel both domestically (occasionally) and internationally (rarely).
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interact with service providers to ensure proper entry, valuation and classification for importing materials, both US and CA imports and/or custom broker management
  • Train and Implement compliance requirements internally (we assist, but in general do not communicate with suppliers, our plants do.)
  • Create/maintain trade compliance procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company Trade Policy
  • Participate in overseeing of USMCA and Value Reconciliation programs
  • HTS Classification
  • Interact with US Customs and Border Protection and Canada Border Services Agency regarding requests for information and / or documents as needed
  • Understanding of Special Trade Programs and documentation requirements including FTA handling and working/leading 3rd party service provider, analyzing duty spend and duty avoidance.
  • Work strategically with Dana departments and plants to support with their import and export needs.
  • CTPAT Trade Compliance renewals/maintenance/audits.
