Job Description
IRC Background: The mission of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. Founded in 1933, the IRC has a presence in over 40 countries and 25 offices in the United States; the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The San Jose IRC office provides a range of services to assist refugees and other foreign-born individuals in developing skills and experiences-to become independent and self-sufficient new Americans.
Job Overview: The Career Development Coordinator is responsible for oversight and service delivery for IRC in San Jose's Career Development Programs including direct staff supervision, with the goal of assisting refugee clients to move beyond entry-level jobs and gain employment in their professional field. This position will be responsible for ensuring that these programs meet all performance goals per funder and contract requirements, are responsive to client needs, and operate within budget and compliance parameters. They will also be responsible for ensuring sustainability of this program area through program development and grant writing. The Career Development Coordinator must be committed to working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a team committed to offering high-quality, community-based programs. They must have sound judgment and be comfortable making decisions in a fluid environment.
