City Experiences is seeking an Accounting Intern for our City Cruises operation in San Diego.

About the Opportunity:
Accounting Interns will serve as an essential part of the accounting team by being an important point of contact for the operations and accounting teams, facilitating the reconciliation of invoices, and preparing for audits. Interns are expected to work safely and to be dynamic in a fast-paced environment. In addition to operational responsibilities, all Interns in the company are expected to participate in learning opportunities, including company-led webinars and completing e-learning leadership development courses. Interns will support the company’s mission of creating amazing experiences for our guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Gain exposure to the basics of operational accounting, including but not limited to journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, end to end business processes, financial reporting, and audits. · Participate in document preparation for outside auditor review. · Shadow team members who have expertise in different accounting roles, including but not limited to budgeting/forecasting, accounts payable, accounting close, and revenue. · Apply cash receipts to the proper accounts. · Work with proprietary company software to apply cash receipts to proper accounts and to reconcile those sales. · Process accounts payable functions. · Collaborate with teammates around the country. · Appy generally accepted accounting principles with the support of supervisor. · Participate in additional learning opportunities and intern meetings as required · Successful completion of required Hornblower University courses · Additional job duties assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required. · Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. · Available to work the assigned season · Must be able to convey written and verbal information effectively to guests and coworkers. · Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others. · Basic computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite · Ability to work for extended periods without sitting. · Availability to work weekends and some holidays. · Self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment. · Highly efficient team player, with the ability to also work independently in a fast-paced, fluid environment. · Be process and quality oriented, with sharp attention to detail. · Have excellent presentation skills.
