Job Description: Sr. Site Specialist

Location/Division Specific Information
We offer a centralized hub for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our tailored service options and knowledgeable service guides have the adaptability and expertise to meet the specific business requirements of our customers' laboratories.
How do we make an impact:
The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, chemical tracking, and glasswash operations. May also include media preparation and cell culture support operations.
What will you do?
- Use company's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing
- Analyze, maintain, and reconcile reports
- Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures
- Listen to customer concerns, address issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe, and proactively communicate to supervisor, any customer concerns and/or potential problems
- Engage in process improvement activities
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
How will you get here?
Education
High School Graduate and/or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred
Experience
- 2-3 years of equivalent experience, preferably within a laboratory setting or services
- Shown customer service, verbal, written, and presentation skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong communication required to provide excellent customer service and reflect Thermo Fisher Scientific's values in a professional manner.
- Displays an important level of confidentiality for both customer and company.
- Possess a strong desire to serve the customer, and the skills to engage with various levels of personnel.
- Knowledgeably operates handheld scanners and performs data entry function.
- Demonstrates computer proficiency and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.
- Must possess strong analytical skills to reconcile various reports to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Works primarily at customer sites, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments. Will work independently at customer location.
- Extensive walking may be required.
- Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses.
- Will be able to consistently lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds; occasional lifting of 50 pounds using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
