Head of Internal Communications
Salary: From £55,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent / Part time (3 or 4 days per week)
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home and at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester, and Milton Park - Oxfordshire)

This is a part time role of 21 – 28 hours (ideally 3 or 4 days a week) however we are open and flexible to a range of working arrangements.

About the role:
As our Head of Internal Communications, you will be on a mission to inspire and engage employees, setting the direction of effective communications and engagement plans that involve compelling ways to connect with staff to drive belief in Jisc’s purpose and strategy with a focus on measurable impact and outcomes.

We’re looking for a passionate, driven, and dynamic communicator to ensure that we are seen as a trusted partner and that through our portfolio of products and services, advice, and guidance and though leadership we are seen to bring great value to the sectors we work in. You will need to be an effective copywriter and engaging storyteller, helping shape Jisc’s tone of voice, and gaining insights and research to help senior leaders understand the language and tools that work with our staff, ensuring all employees' voices are heard.

You’ll be attending the weekly executive leadership team meetings, requiring you to be confident in collaborating and influencing with senior stakeholders. You will also provide leadership and guidance to the internal communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, purpose, and collective ambition amongst the team.

Key Skills and Experience:
• Previous demonstrable experience working effectively with internal stakeholder management.
• Experience of motivating a team to achieve goals and leading effective communications teams.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Previous experience shaping internal communications strategies
• Effective written communications skill with the ability to understand, interpret and meet customer needs.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to adapt complex messages according to the audience.
