JOB SUMMARY:
The Distribution Logistics Manager provides support and guidance for all cylinder gas distribution logistics activities originating from branch and plant locations to maintain the efficient and economical utilization of resources and ensure timely delivery of outbound orders. Applicants must be experienced in the execution of distribution / transportation strategies in a fast paced and dynamic business environment. Responsibilities include:
Supporting departments target of 3% year-over-year savings in distribution & logistics
Working with key divisional, regional, local field personnel to develop a continuous process improvement model.
Driving improvement of KPIs including cylinder utilization, cost per mile, cost per cylinder equivalent delivered.
Monthly monitoring of all distribution reporting to drive routing productivity and compliance.
Achieving best in class service to our customers
Leading through positive influence and hand-on support with field leadership at branch and plant locations.
Effectively communicating at various levels of the organization from a driver to executive regional leadership
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support field locations (Branch / plant)
Support the execution of the strategic plan for 'Routing Optimization' (transportation cost/service projects - Last Mile)
Support the execution of the strategic plan for 'Network Optimization' (transportation cost/service projects)
Development of standard operating procedures and best practices
Collaborative and positive relationship with all divisional, regional and field leadership teams to drive distribution logistics effectiveness within assign area
Drive annual productivity and cost savings projects
Positive and winning culture within cylinder gas operation team
Manage network projects to assess the current state performance in order to optimize future state results, i.e. analysis of routes and leveraging volumes
Help refine metrics - measures, monitors and develop performance reporting on an ongoing basis

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience. (At least three years in Supply Chain, Distribution Logistics experience)
Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge in DOT requirements
Knowledge in loss prevention, safety, and OSHA policies and procedures
Must have strong experience in Microsoft applications.
Good communication and writing skills.
SAP experience (Preferred)
BusinessWarehouse experience (Preferred)
Strong project management and continuous process improvement skills / Six Sigma. (Preferred at least three (3) years, hands-on experience in process improvement and project management)
Experience with transportation / route optimization software. (Preferred)
Must have leadership skills and be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
Highly motivated individual and proven leader
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to operate within strict reporting deadlines
Solid understanding of financial statements
