Overview

The Outbound Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Burlington's Outbound logistics. They will be responsible for managing a team that ensure our Distribution Centers have empty containers to load, timely pickup and transport to pool points, and managing transportation mishaps throughout the freight's journey. They will be tasked with ensuring necessary documentation is sent to the Outbound team, Burlington coworkers, and external partners. This position will partner with the other members of the Outbound team, including the Senior Manager, to provide insight into any issues within the Outbound network and facilitate daily solutions. They will also assist the Senior Manager/VP/SVP with any special projects centered around the role.

A Day in the Life:
  • Maintains proper empty trailer pools in all DC locations
  • Responsible for managing daily carrier pool at distribution centers, overseeing timely pickup of loads, and ensuring loads arrive in timely manner to pool points
  • Advise on all events throughout load journey that could cause disruption
  • Oversee solicitation and execution on all linehaul carrier procurement, including ad-hoc OTR volume
  • Oversees the creation of daily reporting to guide internal and external partners
    • Responsible for the creation, presentation, and accuracy of all reporting created within their team
    • Also responsible for brainstorming and creating new reporting/structures to facilitate improved communication
  • Reports all potential issues that would hinder daily operation to Outbound team and works to provide a solution
  • Comfortable overseeing (2+) analysts that help manage daily tracking and DC operations
  • Assist the Senior Manager/VP/SVP with any special projects centered around the role

You'll Come With:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain/Business related field and/or with 3-5 years of Logistics/Transportation or related field preferred.
  • Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics to benchmark/track performance.
  • Experience in Excel/Reporting preferred.
