DEPARTMENT: Kansas Foster Care - Transportation (Independence, KS)
Starting Salary: $15.00 - $17.29 (Hourly)
(Starting salary depends on education and experience) RESPONSIBILITIES: The Driver is responsible for safely transporting clients and their personal belongings, medication, and appropriate documentation to specific locations as identified. Key job duties include ensuring the timely pick up of children, providing a friendly, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for children while in transit, and providing on-time arrival for all transports. This position must have compassion for and desire to work with kids in the foster care system. The Driver is also responsible for utilizing car safety seats for infants and children according to designated standards. Additional responsibilities include monitoring/documenting the child's behavior/activities while in transit, maintaining/completing all required forms and written reports, and exhibiting a high level of courtesy and professionalism. This position serves as a mandated reporter of suspected abuse/neglect.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a High School Diploma or higher level of education and previous work experience demonstrating competency in serving children and families. Associate degrees in the human services field can serve instead of experience. This position also requires a valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance. Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check, and physical and drug screening.
