The Supply Chain Analyst is an individual contributor role within the Planning team to provide support in inventory reduction, capacity planning, demand planning, and production scheduling. This role will be responsible for managing projects that reduce working capital, improve production scheduling systems, and improving on time delivery to the customer. This role will also be the primary backup to production planning and order acknowledgement. This role will support change management for Sourcing review.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (other duties may be assigned)

Production Planning (30%)

  • Analyzes and improves production planning systems to enhance service level and reduce working capital
  • Integrates demand plans and forecasts with operations capacity requirements to ensure product flow to customer at committed lead times and service level expectations
  • Primary backup to Planners on production scheduling and order acknowledgement

Result: Effective utilization of internal manufacturing capacity while maintaining high customer service levels and inventory turns.

Demand Planning (30%)

  • Utilizes ForecastPro software to lead Demand Planning process by collaborating with Sales and PLM to create planning inputs based off forecast, market surveillance, new products and historical trends
  • Creates monthly inventory and supply capacity plans to support Sales & Operations Planning that fosters joint effort between Operations, Sales and our Customers.
  • Evaluates potential changes to demand patterns and stocking levels as illustrated by historical data or Sales team forecasts

Inventory & Capacity Management (30%)

  • Reviews capacity of labor, equipment, warehouse and facilities to ensure adequate plans exist to support material flow and maintain service levels to the customer
  • Executes planning and inventory management systems to drive working capital reduction, planning efficiency, and improved customer service.
  • Analyzes inventory levels and critical input assumptions to ensure alignment to demand planning process
  • Ensures accuracy for inventory through routine reviews of expiring product and daily cycle count activities
  • Analyzes material logistics and identifies and implements opportunities for improvements

Result: Ability to meet working capital and customer order on-time delivery goals.

Change Management (5%)

  • Collaborates with change notice (CN) owners to develop material disposition plans.
  • Reviews and provide Sourcing approval for CN's and temporary deviations and communicates accordingly to the Sourcing team.
  • Supporting product launch by determining inventory levels, order quantities, and capacity impact based on forecast
  • Supporting acquisition management (as needed), integrating new business/mfg. processes

Result: Effective management and transition of engineering changes, new releases and business changes

Quality Systems Maintenance. (5%)

  • Ensuring purchasing and production control systems and procedures are implemented as required to follow all FDA/ISO, CE, and MHW requirements.
  • Ensuring proper response to internal and external audit findings.

Result: Purchasing and production control systems meet regulatory requirements.

Other Duties (other duties may be assigned)

  • Analyzes and manages inventory levels and cost savings for areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains planning database with INFOR.
  • Works on inventory reduction analysis and develops appropriate improvement action plans and goals.
  • Works with buyers and planners to establishes safety stock levels, purchase/manufacturing minimum order quantities and delivery dates.
  • Provides Sourcing authorization and input for engineering changes and MRB quality decisions.
  • Analyzes shipment data to inform decision-making around improvements to on-time delivery
  • Material reorder and open order reports, sales back order reports, shipped on-time results, inventory reports, financial reporting of material costs and inventory levels, and supplier performance reports.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education or experience. Preferred 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing or supply chain with 3+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, and/or inventory management.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to make quick, effective decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analysis and project execution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and familiarity with machining manufacturing methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and INFOR XA, or comparable MRP system knowledge.
  • Requires face-to-face interaction with team members, peers and management to complete work and provide support.
