Description

Lactation Educator RN in our Postpartum unit at Providence Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. This is a Per-Diem position that will work 8-hour shifts as needed by patients.

Independently receives nursing/physician lactation consultation orders in the inpatient setting and provides consults in the outpatient setting for discharged patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes, and evaluate patient's plan of care. Develops treatment plan based on individualized patient needs. Provides evidence-based breastfeeding to new mothers. Provides training and updates for Women and Infant staff and physicians.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Upon hire: IBCLC certification.
  • 2 years Experience as a Lactation Consultant in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing new programs and services.
  • Experience in facilitating support groups and teaching.
  • Computer experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
  • Master's Degree Nursing.
  • 1 year Experience in leadership.
  • Experience in working with postpartum depression.
