MORE ABOUT THE MED TECH:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for this Med Tech opportunity include, but are not limited to:

1. Receives report at the beginning of shift with nurses.

2. Reports observations concerning patient condition, emergencies or difficulties with medications to the supervising nurse.
3. Prepares and administers routine and PRN medications as prescribed by the physician; the administration of PRN medications is performed under the supervision of the RN or LPN.
4. Does not administer medication based on verbal order.
5. Documents administration of medications.
6. Maintains medication supply and cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine room as needed.
7. Notifies pharmacy of medication needing to be refilled.
8. Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy.
9. Maintains current knowledge of medications and investigates/looks up unknown medications before administration.
10. Performs Certified Nursing Assistant duties as needed and as defined in the Certified Nursing Assistant job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MED TECH:

1. Successful completion of a state-approved medication aide training course and exam
2. Active medication aide permit
3. 1 year of experience preferred
4. Must be eligible to work in the United States
