Overview/Function: The Merchandising Supervisor plays a key role in the sales process of Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company products. They visit customer locations setting out product, rotating new product, and install and maintain point-of-sale displays. They work with the Sales team to effectively build sales through merchandising activities. Along with Sales, they visit, develop, and sustain key store relationships, resolve concerns, implement merchandising and sales campaigns, and ensure service levels which meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations. They also train new merchandise staff and assist with on-site displays.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervise merchandising personnel, provide training, and oversee performance management.
  • Work with Sales to implement merchandising and sales campaigns which meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations, while positively reflecting the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image. Oversee company points of sale installations and maintenance (i.e. displays, discount coupons, channel price tags, display headers, pole signs, static clings, etc.).
  • Maintain Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottlings merchandising standard procedures and ensure the team is following campaign diagrams.
  • Implement marketing and sales promotions.
  • Regularly visit customer locations, develop and sustain key store relationships.
  • Act as corporate liaison for sales team and ensure professional contact with customers, while maintaining a clean and neat appearance at all times, and a positive Atlantic Bottling brand image.
  • Develop and manage merchandiser work schedule and responsibilities. Schedule assignment to assure customer needs are addressed regarding display changes, bulk delivery schedule, store back room schedules and other factors.
  • Responsible for completing store resets to product sections. Generate work orders to replace/update coolers, display racks, and other company-provided equipment.
  • Assist in development of measurable team goals, action plans, and timelines.
  • Supervise merchandising schedule and assignment routes.
  • Schedule partner visits (i.e. ride-a-longs) with merchandising staff, and also merchandising staff with route sales.
  • Resolve concerns and issues with customers, as well as with merchandising staff.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments to effectively complete merchandising activity.
  • Work with Sales on price-management issues, and potential sales opportunities.
  • Provide assistance for building and setting-up displays, rotating product, in-store housekeeping, etc.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of merchandising experience
  • Previous personnel management experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and effectively solve on-site problems, while under potentially stressful situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teacher and motivator
  • Excellent team-player
  • Customer-focused with the ability to positively and effectively interact with customers is essential
  • Ability to make frequent visits to multiple customer sites each day
  • Valid drivers license
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations
  • Good computer skills (MS Office)

Additional:

  • The role will travel to various customer sites, as a result each environment will vary.
  • Extensive regional day travel is required with this role.
  • This position is very active and requires constant standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and spend their time both on the customer floor and in their back room(s). As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment and will frequently lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
  • The role is expected to be able to:
    • Lift 40 pounds up to shoulder height occasionally.
    • Lift up to 20 pounds above the head occasionally.
    • Push carts using 100 pounds of force occasionally.
    • Carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • The role will have occasional to frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing will be required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The role is considered a safety sensitive position.
  • Work hours will mostly be Monday-Friday (5:00 am 3:00 pm) with typically at least one weekend day. Additional or alternative days/times may be occasionally needed, depending on customer and/or promotional campaign.
