This position is to assist the General Managers of 3 separate entities operated out of the same building, located at 616 S Tejon Street - Garden of the Gods Market + Cafe, Vine + Wheel, and Till Neighborhood Bistro + Bar.

Assistant General Manager Position


The Assistant General Manager oversees all marketing, event sales + execution, as well as acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the General Managers of Garden of the Gods Market & Café, Vine & Wheel and Till Neighborhood Bistro & Bar. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Ensures a smooth dining & bar experience for all guests. Responsible for assisting in managing the daily operations of the restaurants, including opening and closing duties. Responsible for planning and executing events to achieve the most positive guest experience. The Assistant Manager reports directly to the General Managers of each entity. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Experience

Degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable or 3 years’ experience in hospitality management or similar field experience.
Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on business demands. A working knowledge of the practices and procedures in event sales, restaurant operations and customer service. Friendly demeanor and positive attitude.

A working knowledge of the practices and procedures of safe food handling.

Strong organizational skills and accurate work practices.
Ability to work within a team, liaise and take direction from the General Manager’s and work within the parameters for each entity.
Eligible to work in the United States and agree to background investigation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintains proper flow on the restaurant floor. Supervises and directs team members in their daily work activities and helps fill position shortages as needed.

Adheres to company standards, brand strategy, and service levels.

Ensures compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.

Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards.

Ensures positive guest experience in all areas. Responds to complaints, taking any appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.

Oversee staff on service floor and ensure all standards are properly followed in a positive and professional manner.

Provide direction to employees regarding correct standards according to brand. Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that the level of service meets appropriate standards.

Ability to navigate and train with POS system.

Assist General Manager with the following tasks: Execution of Service, Communication with Vendors, and Achieving sales goals through labor and cost.


Manage incoming leads to convert into event sales. Create proposals and oversee contract and billing details for each event. Coordinate and conduct tours, meetings and day-of details.

Maintain company social media accounts with current, accurate and creative content. Organize in-house promotions with help of the General Managers.

Create media interest in the organization and ensure regular contact with target audiences and respond appropriately to media requests.

Hours and Availability

This is a Full Time Position of 30-40 hours a week. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Attire

Professional Business Attire or regular staff uniform per entity.

Benefits and Pay

This position starts at $25/hr. All full time employees are eligible for insurance after 60 days of employment. Altitude Hospitality Group offers medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a free life insurance policy.
