Position: Sr Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty

Dept: Emergency Department

Shift: FT Days (7a-7p)  or  FT Nights (7p-7a); including rotating weekends

 

 

**$10K Hiring Incentive Eligible, for New Talent or Eligible Parkland Rehire (with 1+ year term date)

 

 

Primary Purpose:

Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with established protocols and multidisciplinary plan of care utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability, prevent complications, and achieve and maintain optimal patient responses for all patients through patient centered/patient valued care.

Job Summary:

  • Provides care for assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.
  • Provides continuous assessment, consults with other team members as required and provides nursing care which demonstrates patient centered/patient valued care.
  • Exercises independent judgment in providing nursing care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to provide direction to non-nursing staff, serve as a preceptor, and serve on rotation as a Charge Nurse.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct in-service educational programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
  • As applicable, will be required to demonstrate acceptable knowledge of nursing standards of care for specialty care area.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • A.S.N. or BSN Degree from an accredited Professional School of Nursing.
  • Current/Valid State of TX RN license or temporary RN license or, Compact RN license in good standing without stipulations.
  • Two (2) years of direct registered nurse experience in an Emergency Department hospital setting, within the last two (2) years. 

 

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

*Please note, all required certifications must be more than 30 days from expiration from start date.

  • Current/Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider certification, and the ability to maintain thereafter from one of the following: American Heart Association; American Red Cross; or Military Training Network.
  • Current/Valid American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS), and the ability to maintain thereafter from one of the following: American Heart Association; American Red Cross; or Military Training Network.
  • Current/Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), and the ability to maintain thereafter.
  • Current/Valid Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN), and the ability to maintain thereafter.
