General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Maintenance Lead works under general supervision to perform various skilled maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machines, and facility maintenance.

Directs and trains other maintenance personnel and sets and directs the daily work of the other maintenance team members.

Ability to self-identify basic safety and maintenance issues and correct them without guidance.

Note: This is a working lead position. The person in the position will be expected to direct and complete work. It is not just a supervisory role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As Maintenance Lead:
    • Sets daily workload and priorities.
    • Keeps track of maintenance team attendance
    • Assist with implementation of a new CMMS system (Computerized Maintenance Management system)
      • Work orders and scheduling.
      • Bill of materials
      • Spare parts inventories
      • PM Development
    • Coordinates and manages outside contractors with engineering and management to complete:
      • PM work
      • Equipment repairs
      • Inspections
      • Calibrations
      • Projects
    • Ensure all safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
    • Complete work or assist other maintenance technicians to complete daily work orders, repairs, PMs, or projects.
  • Performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of facility systems, including:
    • Pump Repair/rebuild
    • Pump/Motor Alignment
    • Seal replacement
    • Pipe fitting
    • Valve Replacement or repair
    • Controls
    • Electrical equipment
  • Operates hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely and complies with safety requirements, including the use of appropriate PPE
  • Works under general supervision and seeks assistance when necessary to complete work with the highest level of safety and quality
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations such as lockout/tagout
  • Completes PMs and other daily assigned tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Able to walk, stand, climb, stoop for extended lengths of time
  • Must be able to climb and be comfortable with heights (ex. Spray Dryer 150 ft.)
  • Able to tolerate temperature extremes up to 110*F in production and outside on hot days and cold outside temperatures during the winter
  • Outside work in all weather elements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school Diploma
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial facility maintenance role.
  • Previous experience utilizing Microsoft Office software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
  • MTEC, Trade School, or College education preferred not required.
  • The ability to weld carbon, stainless steel, and other alloys is preferred but not required.
  • Strong safety work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills must work as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $28.75 - $38.37.
    Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
