The Opportunity

We are looking for a multifaceted, driven leader to establish and nurture content licensing partnerships. This role will be pivotal in shaping and expanding our content products and services through partnerships.

The Manager, Business Development, Strategic Content Partnerships specializes in content acquisition, focusing on building and maintaining key industry relationships. This position demands skilled negotiation and contract management, ensuring deals align with company goals and legal standards. Collaboration with various departments is essential to formulate a unified content strategy, coupled with adept budget management to maximize ROI.

The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated ability in media-related business development/sales, boasting exceptional communication and planning skills. Proficiency in analyzing market trends and content performance is critical, alongside a deep understanding of legal nuances, particularly in intellectual property rights. This role requires a collaborative blend of industry knowledge, technological savvy, and coordination, making it central to Adobe's content-driven growth.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with senior leaders in the media and related industries.
  • Lead content licensing negotiations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial directives.
  • Supervise contract drafting and finalization, ensuring legal and policy compliance.


  • Collaborate with content, legal, product, and other departments for a unified acquisition approach.
  • Handle budget for content procurement, emphasizing cost optimization and investment returns.
  • Understand and navigate the complexities of intellectual property rights in content deals.
  • Present insights and reporting on the progress and results of content acquisition strategies.
  • Identify, assess, and develop strategies to mitigate risks in content deals.
  • Monitor and analyze acquired content performance, informing, and shaping future strategic planning.


What You Need to Succeed

  • 5+ years' experience leading business development strategic partnerships in media or related industry, experience working with studios, production houses is a plus.
  • Proven experience in content acquisition, licensing, and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Expertise in content copyright, IP, and trademarks as it relates to content commercial use and licensing.
  • Knowledge of legal aspects related to content deals, including intellectual property rights.
  • Financial competence in budgeting and cost analysis specific to content acquisition.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with content creators, agents, and partners.
  • Proficiency in using digital platforms and technologies relevant to the content industry.
  • Experience in cross-departmental collaboration and project management in content acquisition.
  • Excellent communication abilities for effective collaborator interactions.
  • Critical thinking for long-term planning aligned with company goals.
  • Analytical skills to assess market trends, content performance, and financial data.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, comfortable operating in a visible role, comfortable rolling your sleeves and getting things done.


Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $132,900 -- $273,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
