Texas Immersive Institute

At the Texas Immersive Institute's (TXI), we aim to provide access to emerging technology and research to design for artists, scientists, and humanists who use storytelling to share solutions to big problems that are responsive, responsible, and remarkable. Our goal is to be a leading voice in the future of communication and media through applied creative and research projects using a mixture of live communication methods and emerging technologies. We seek a part-time employee who is self-motivated but collaborative and willing to be creative in the management of their work environment.

Purpose

To assist founding director and program manager in the preparation and submission of research proposals to sponsoring agencies and organizations and to represent the Institute in negotiation of the resulting contracts or agreements with the sponsoring agency or organization.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies funding needs and opportunities and attends strategy meetings.

  • Searches and finds appropriate funding opportunities for the institute.

  • Prepares proposals by conducting research, gathering internal and external data to support grants requests, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.

  • Updates and maintains development tracker

  • Ensures that the Institute meets proposal deadlines by determining priorities and target dates for information gathering, drafting, editing, revising, and submitting proposals.

  • Work with faculty and staff members to develop and prepare proposals for submission to prospective sponsoring agencies and organizations.

  • Writes and edits executive summaries, conclusions, and organizational and program descriptions.

  • Prepares presentations by assembling and overseeing the printing and digital presentation of proposals, including text and graphics.

  • Maintains the overall quality of proposals by creating, maintaining, and revising proposal templates and proposal support databases.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing or a related field and at least one year of experience.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Efficient in writing grant proposals

  • Efficient in research and finding funding opportunities

  • Efficient in project management

  • Efficient in development tracking software such as Hubspot

  • Works independently without much supervision

Salary Range

$25/hour
