Overview:

As part of our dedicated marketing department, we seek a talented Digital Media Coordinator to join the communications team and take charge of creating and strategically distributing captivating multimedia content across various digital channels. As the Digital Media Coordinator, you will be vital in shaping Carowinds' online presence during the 2024 season.

 

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional stroytelling skills and continously contribute innovative and creative ideas that enhance project value. We seek a solutions-oriented self-stater with a passion for visual storytelling both behind the camera and in the edit suite. The successful team member understnads how to tailor the story to different platforms, including social media, Carowinds' mobile app, Carowinds' website, and earned media. 

 


Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce engaging multimedia content to be shared across Carowinds' digital platforms, such as social media, Carowinds’ website, Carowinds’ mobile app, and earned media.
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to align content with our brand messaging and marketing objectives.
  • Identifying compelling stories and creative angles that resonate with our diverse audience and enhance the overall value of our projects.
  • Production and Post-Production Management: Efficiently execute and oversee daily production and post-production tasks, ensuring timely delivery of edited content for web and other digital platforms.
  • Event Coverage: Capture compelling photos and videos of in-park events, preserving the excitement and experiences of our audience.
  • Blog Content Support: Assist with writing and editing blog content, adding multimedia elements to enhance storytelling.
  • Resource Management: Manage equipment and resources essential for producing high-quality multimedia content.
  • Media / Digital Asset Management: Maintain an organized system for managing photo, video, and other media files to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
  • Event Coordination: Assisting in the planning and execution of media events, ensuring smooth operations, and providing support to media representatives and attendees.
  • Compliance: Adhere to Cedar Fair's rules of conduct, including specific costuming and grooming standards outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division-specific policies and procedures.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Willingness to take on other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of the communications team and Carowinds.

Qualifications:
  • Photography and Videography Expertise: Proficiency in using park-provided photo and video equipment to capture candid guest moments, rides, and attractions, shows, signature events, programs, and various in-park promotional activations.
  • Editing Skills: Ability to edit and enhance assets, including resizing and color-correcting, to ensure optimal quality for delivery across different mediums.
  • Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency: Working knowledge and experience with the full Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro, enabling seamless content creation and editing.
  • Flexible Schedule: Availability to work part-time, including some weekends, evenings, and holidays to cover events and promotional activities.
  • Educational Background: Recent graduate or current college enrollment pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related fields, demonstrating a solid academic foundation for the role.
