Engineering Services designs, builds, and sustains technology that powers DE&E Technology’s worldwide content production and distribution platforms. In doing so, they contribute to a series of cross-functional services and technologies, including Quality Assurance, Data Analytics, Software Development, Broadcast Infrastructure, and Networking & Security.

Media Engineering is looking for a Product Manager to define and lead the application requirements and roadmap for broadcast and transmission systems across The Walt Disney Media Networks. The Sr. Product Manager II provides direction and leadership over the suite of application offerings and manages the day-to-day needs of business partners to ensure they are working in the most efficient capacity. This position is critical to the continuity of subject matter expertise over the management and operations of content acquisition and distribution, to ensure DE&ET remote transport and news/production transport bookings, feed recording, captioning, Network and MCR Operations, Transmission and Content Operations teams can deliver accurate and high-quality video feeds for all of The Walt Disney Company’s platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with business partners and other product managers to define the strategic vision of enterprise products that support remote and Assignment Desk transport bookings, Production Operations, Network and MCR operations, transmission and content operations suite of tools.
  • Drive feature prioritization through collaboration with the functional team leaders and user representation.
  • Work with the Product Management and Software Engineering leads to help develop and manage product specifications and requirements and current-state workflow.
  • Work with Global Program/Project Management to plan/prioritize new business requests of technology
  • Demonstrate a strategic understanding of the rational for design choices for the feature area, and develop business and functional requirements through product briefs and user stories
  • Identifies unaddressed issues and resolves, advances, or find the appropriate owner to ensure highest quality for his feature area.
  • Build additional specifications that include detailed descriptions of records, files, and documents used in processing, and data flow charts; documents descriptions of the interrelationship of the business rules to be considered by application development; collaborates with developers to conceive and recommend solutions to business stakeholders
  • Work with team leads to develop and manage a work-intake process for documenting and prioritizing new project/product requests and operational enhancements.
  • Uses creativity and analytical thinking to identify and evaluate solution alternatives and to develop recommendations for resolving product issues.
  • Think strategically about the suite of products, and determine areas of improvement to provide consolidation and workflow efficiencies for the business
  • Managing product roadmap and work with team leadership to ensure it continues to meet business needs

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience in Product Management, Engineering, Business Analysis or related field
  • BA/BS in computer science, engineering, product design, business or related field required; or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong communications and leadership skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills, a proven ability to articulate a team vision and translate technical concepts into material that can be broadly understood across the company.
  • Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations and a fast-paced environment with constantly evolving business needs.
  • Strong analytical abilities and independence, using self-service data dashboards to provide recommendations. Champion for data gaps and independently drives towards accurate and comprehensive insights.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Agile methodology and User Story writing
  • Experience in developing requirements for enterprise applications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the broadcast media industry.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $156,300.00-$209,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
