CNC Laser Programmer
Job Summary:
Provide support for realization of the product in a Production Control function (programming as required and scheduling, with ability to create CNC programs as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Comply with company policy and safety standards.
• Keep the work area, components, and machines clean and organized.
• Follow work instructions and complete daily work schedule.
• Assures the product realization schedule is adhered to and acts as a liaison between the scheduling and realization functions of manufacturing.
• Instruct and aids manufacturing personnel in specific job set-ups for turrets, Laser & brake presses.
• Reviews special CNC programs based off DXF files provided by Engineering for set-up personnel at the computer-controlled equipment (i.e., laser, turret, press brake, robot, etc.)
• Creates sheet sizes and CNC programs for prototypes to be punched on the turrets or laser and assures that stock sheet yields are maximized.
• Troubleshoots problems related to CNC programs and set-ups. Communicates any changes to Manufacturing Engineering that impact routings, time study, etc.
• Provides detail information back to Design Engineering when UOM per BOM is inconsistent with actual BOM used and/or needed.
• Inspect and present parts for QC approval.
Job Skills:
• Ability to read and analyze blueprints or sketches.
• Knowledge of Merry Mechanization, Dr Abe 3I, DR Abe Bend Software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and 3D CAD programs (i.e., SolidWorks)
• Knowledge of computers and tools, including, G-code programming, DXF, IGES files, etc. and spreadsheet applications
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of manufacturing process
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Reading and math skills.
• Able to become forklift certified.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
• HS Diploma or GED required.
Qualifications:
• 4 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing
• Previous set-up and operating experience with various types of CNC equipment, a plus
• Other physical demands – climb, bend, kneel, squat, reach, or twist on a continuous basis lift up to 50lbs every 30 minutes with or without assistance from equipment or other employees.
