We’re seeking an experienced manufacturing professional with a proven track record of scheduling production processes including planning, preparing and maintaining master production schedules in our make-to-order environment. This person will interface with sales, production planning, purchasing, and production support and should have prior experience with implementing and utilizing an MRP, utilizing customer forecast data and maintaining a production schedule.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Plan and establish production schedules. Schedule the production of parts, assemblies or re-work as required. Monitor material inventories, track progress of production, and review factors that affect schedules. Initiate work orders to the appropriate department when revisions are made to the schedule. Ensure work orders are closed accurately and timely by working with production supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

Plan, prepare and maintain the Master Production Schedule
Work order generation (creating new work orders) and daily maintenance.
Monitor daily production status to ensure ship dates are met. Identify “must ship”, priority level or hot orders.
Facilitate routine production planning meetings.
Closes work orders
Inventory maintenance/control/reconciliation
Coordinate with Purchasing Department for material planning.
Participate in, review and advise on capacity planning.
Effectively communicate schedule requirements, status and changes within RFC.
Prepare part and/or customer analysis reports upon request.
Assist with annual physical inventory to include warehouse preparation, scanning, auditing, and reconciliation.
Perform a variety of administrative tasks requiring knowledge of applicable systems and procedures.
Coach/Facilitator for Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action through CI Teams to address all internal and external customer issues. Lead excellence in problem definition.
Identify and match resources with objectives in line with annual budget, including the identification and initiation of quality related training and equipment.

Schedule: This role is overtime exempt and will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours. Typical hours could be 8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Industrial Engineering OR equivalent years of experience and/or training
1-2 years’ related experience in schedule planning and development experience. Must have a strong background in ERP systems and a strong understanding of materials planning, capacity planning, purchasing in a make-to-order environment. Prior EDI (830 forecasts, 862s), including forecasting is a must. Should also have experience developing, integrating and maintaining complete production plans, master schedules and forecasts which meet or exceed customer objectives.
Strong attention to detail, mathematical and analytical skills
Flexible and able to shift to meet customers’ needs in a dynamic work environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new software
US Person as defined by ITAR / EAR
Local to Shelbyville, KY area or commutable distance – this is an onsite position

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Industrial Engineering
Experience with inventory management, clerical skills, data entry and report development.
Experience with Global Shop Solutions
Aerospace industry experience
