About the Team

VIZIO is looking for a Sr Manager, QA Engineering to joing our QA team.

What You Will Do

Deliver quality products that meet product demands and empower their team members to be effective and efficient. They are responsible for getting good code into production. Architect your tech stack: serve as the tech lead to implement new features in VIZIO products. Perform code reviews for automated tests. Identify and investigate bugs and communicate with the appropriate teams. Maintain tech leadership by keeping up with software updates and best practices. Participate in product planning, ticket writing, and organizing development work. Deliver high-quality software. Have an understanding of cloud architectures, high scale API and data aggregations. Understand Firmware and embedded software architectures. Be comfortable leading QA teams for both cloud and embedded software. Understand AWS technologies such as Redshift, Kinesis, S3, etc. Understand both cloud and embedded software QA automation and be able to plan for building frameworks for both. Manage assigned QA team to enable them to be productive, know the team members' work schedule and progress, and understand how the team fits into the larger ecosystem. Pair with, teach, and mentor developers on assigned team. Advocate for the QA team across the organization and QA company. Manage team members' schedules, assigned responsibilities, expectations, and conduct regular 1-on-1s. Help recruit, interview, and hire new team members, and prioritize VIZIO's goal of zero attrition. Participate in conversations (Slack, email, meetings) on behalf of assigned QA team with other organizations of Vizio at-large.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics or related technical field, plus three (3) years of experience as a QA Automation Manager, Test Engineer or related position, and demonstrated knowledge of or experience with the following:

- Three (3) years of experience with at least one big data platform (such as Snowflake, Databricks, etc.);

- Spark and SQL;

- Proficient with concepts and implementation of data validation, pipeline monitoring, error alerting, and data recovery;

- Building automation monitoring tools for Big Data and working with data engineering-related tools and technologies, including: Kafka, Data Warehouses, and Apache Airflow;

- Software QA manual testing and documentation;

- Linux architecture and kernal impacts of software, and Embedded Engineering Platforms;

- Testing strategies for memory management;

- Automation frameworks including Cypress and Selenium, and building an automation SDK;

- HTML and Python;

- Scripting languages including Rest API and Java or C#.

For California-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $181,272/year. The maximum salary for this position $216,000/year. Compensation may vary inside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the employee's total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, commissions, profit-sharing, or other stock compensation.
