Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be located at Auburn Hospital within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Gestational Diabetes Mellitus).
Successful applicants will need to be appropriately qualified, have sound knowledge of diabetes in pregnancy & endocrinology, good communication skills and be able to work harmoniously in a multidisciplinary team.
This position provides specialist endocrinology support to Auburn Hospital’s Obstetrics & Gynaecology department.
Selection Criteria
· Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award/ Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable )
· Sound clinical knowledge in managing diabetes (gestational, type 1 and type 2 diabetes) and endocrine disease during pregnancy, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
· Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty.
· Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty.
· Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:
