Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-BC

We are currently seeking a full-time PMHNP-BC who is comfortable working with children, teens, and adults in our growing practice in our Brookline, Massachusetts office. This is a terrific opportunity to work in an outpatient setting with a motivated population.

Compensation:

Fee for Service
Full-time employees can earn $125K-175K annually.
Hybrid Model

Requirements:

Clear and active Family Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from a nationally recognized accrediting body.
Board Certified
Current and active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration for prescribing controlled substances.
Must hold the credentials to prescribe medications to children, teens, and adults.
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing, preferably outpatient.

Essential Duties:

Clinical Assessment and Evaluation:

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients presenting with various mental health concerns.

Utilize evidence-based screening tools and diagnostic criteria to formulate comprehensive treatment plans.

Medication Management:

Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications per established protocols and clinical guidelines.

Monitor medication efficacy and side effects, adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.

Provide patient education regarding medication regimens, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.

Psychotherapy and Counseling:

Deliver individual and group psychotherapy sessions, employing various therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Facilitate psychoeducation sessions for patients and their families to promote understanding of mental health conditions and enhance coping skills.

Collaborative Care:

Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other treatment team members to ensure coordinated and integrated care.

Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to review patient progress and adjust treatment goals as needed.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication management records.

Adhere to legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality and privacy of patient information.

Patient Advocacy and Support:

Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected throughout treatment.

Provide emotional support and crisis intervention, collaborating with emergency services and community resources to address acute psychiatric crises.

Professional Development:

Stay abreast of current developments in psychiatric care through continuing education, professional conferences, and participation in relevant training opportunities.

Pursue professional growth and development opportunities, such as obtaining specialty certifications or participating in research projects.
